Personality tests

The tool you'll use isn't a personality test or a personality quiz. The MBTI tool has over 70 years of thorough scientific research behind it. Don't confuse the insights into your personality this will give you with anything you might know about yourself from reading about the "personality of an aries"!

While it is true that the MBTI personality tool does include a questionnaire, it's certainly not a personality test. It's based upon the work of Carl Jung and one of the fundamentals of the approach is that different personality types are equally valid - each one has its strengths and contributions to society just as each has its instinctive weaknesses.

The day-long "personality days" will help you explore your personality in a safe and comfortable environment and stimulate you to take a look at yourself in an honest way - without being intrusive.

Course leader, Dr Simon Raybould is an expert in the MBTI personality tool and is one of the relatively few people in the northeast qualified to provide Step2 feedback. He's also a member of the MBTI expert users group.

This course is based on work for many of the larger organisations in the region such as Newcastle, Northumbria and Sunderland Universities, local authorities and companies from one-man-bands to multi-nationals.

One of the major advantages of MBTI is that it doesn't attempt to say what you can and can't (or should and shouldn't) do: instead MBTI looks thoroughly and effectively at your instinctive personality, helping you to understand more about you, how you think, and how you instinctively relate to other people.

Of course, no list like this can be comprehensive; that's why we provide the service after all! We've never worked with anyone who didn't get a great deal out of understanding more about their personality.

It's important to remember that MBTI personality profiling doesn't solve all your problems. What it does do, however, is give you a powerfully useful tool to help you get on with, understanding and infuence the people you work with and the people around you at home.

What you do with a greater understanding of how your personality works is up to you. You're MBTI personality report can be extended to include comments on such issues as your personality Type's instinctive leadership style and your communication style: you can also opt to get suggestions on areas where you might not be so instinctively well developed....

How do you find out about your personality?

The process is simple.

Firstly, you'll need to get in contact with us and book onto one of our public course dates. New dates are added constantly, so email us to find out when we've got spaces. Secondly, you'll recieve an email linking you to a secure, confidential and personal questionnaire - you just log on and answer the questions then hit the 'submit' button. Thirdly, you come along to our training day when we explain what the various elements of the MBTI personality profile are, and how they work.

Don't worry, it's all pretty painless and a lot of fun!

How much does an MBTI session cost?

Venues are chosen to be the best - comfortable and convenient - so you can concentrate fully on the learning experience. Total costs are £220, plus VAT. That includes absolutely everything:

  • a six page report (optional 22-page upgrade)
  • refreshments
  • small group training with two facilitators
  • materials and consumables
  • two course lunch
  • follow-up by email
  • fully legal and licenced MBTI profile
What's more, if you don't find MBTI a useful way of exploring your personality, we'll happily waive our part of the fee. (We can't legally not charge you the licence fee etc!).

What should you do now?

If you want to know more about your personality - or if you're just curious about how we work - the next thing you'll need to do is drop us a line.

We should get back to you within two days at most, to make sure that this kind of personality tool is what you need... and that you're comfortable with our style. If we like each other, we'll tell you how to pay.

Because of the licensing requirements, we need to charge in advance of the training. We can accept payments by cheque in the post, or online via creditcard using Google Checkout. We won't ask you for any money until we've spoken to you and checked that our session is going to be useful to you.

Remember our promise. We're so sure you'll find MBTI a useful way of exploring your personality that you'll not have to pay our bit of it if you don't think so too!
